The Shape of things to come!

September 5th, 2008

I am sitting at home looking out the window and seeing a whole lot of rain! Not very nice if you’re used to the sun and have still not seen the promised summer! Season change, summer to autumn, winter to spring! These times are always significant to me for some reason. It seems as if God tends to speak very clearly to me during these time. And he is doing that now!

I believe we are entering into a season where God will shake and shape us. This can be both scary and exciting at the same time. I love how when Mary responded to the resurrected Lord Jesus in the garden she was ‘afraid and full of joy’. Those two emotions don’t seem to go together do they? Yet that is how I feel sometimes when I think about what the Lord will do in these days. God seems to be shaking the materialistic comforts in the UK and everyone seems to be feeling the pinch. I do know that in times of need this nation has called out to God for His intervention and he has done so graciously every time. I can’t help but wonder if God is positioning this nation to realize it’s desperate need for Him again?

I do not often prophesy into the future of a nation, but I am living with a strong sense that God is about to breakout in a radical way all across the UK. Not just in a nice, neat and orderly way but a powerful and unpredictable way. A way in which will reach all levels of society including media and radio. Two year ago I brought a word about flooding across the UK and in summer of 2007 the UK had huge flooding problems. I felt it was a sign of what God was going to do in-terms of revival. I think we are about to hit this move of God full on and will be swept off our feet into His purposes. This requires positioning and faith. I want to be right in the center of what God is doing!

So are you ready for it? I believe like the changing of seasons God is bringing about a serious change in the UK, the shape of things to come will be different to what has gone before. Do not hold on tightly to anything that is movable! For those of you who might want information on what is happening with my diary please check it out here

fathers love keeps on giving!

August 6th, 2008

So I have been in the UK now for just a day under a month. Time does fly when you busy. My last entry spoke of my time at Brighton Leaders Conference which serves our family of churches Newfrontiers. It was absolutely amazing. I then spent some time with Saffa’s (South African’s) in St Albans, before trekking up to Middlesbrough. After just a week I left for France where we had our annual bible week called Rendezvous in Ganierés. God moved powerfully as we saw many get healed and touched by His wonderful love. I will hopefully put some testimonies up of that soonish!

That’s not why I am writing though. I have been listening to the raw Holy Spirit inspired voice of Kim Walker singing ‘Oh how He Loves us”. The passionate words of God’s love like ‘He is jealous for me, loves like a hurricane, I am a tree bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy!’ it goes on to be even more extravagant, irresponsibly saying ‘We are his portion and he is our prize drawn to redemption by the grace in his eye’s, if grace is an ocean then we’re all sinking. So heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss and my heart turns violently inside my of chest and I don’t have time to maintain these regerts when I think about how he loves us!’. The song then builds with power and revelation simply singing ‘He loves us, oh how He loves us!” Man I am undone by this song every time I hear it.

I know there will be some out there who will be offended by the phrase ’sloppy wet kiss’. I often say blessed are the offended, for they will get over it! The truth is when I was a kid I would run to my Dad jump into his arms and give him sloppy wet kisses on his cheeks. I had no reserve, I was not afraid and nothing or no-one had stolen my innocence. All I knew was that I loved my daddy and wanted to kiss him! When I think of it, my Dad kissed me back! Heaven is like a little kid wanting to shower you with fathers affection! man alive that’s amazing!

The fathers love and passionate affection toward us is never ending. This is the most powerful theological truth. The father loves us! He does not simply leave it there though, He wants us to experience His love! He wants us to engage with His love, He wants us to enjoy His powerful love! Some of you need to know that again. The father loves you, perfectly, completely and full on passionately. In fact it was such powerful love that it raised Jesus from the dead! So go on, get lost in Him, go crazy in your room shouting about his love, dance like your father is the only one watching and his pleased by your worship. Live extravagantly secure in his love. Give his love away, knowing that there is always more love encounters to be had!

So this is short and sweet, but powerfully true! He loves you!!

And Finally!

July 15th, 2008

So here I am finally, in the UK. I sit writing after having watched some of the Lakeland Outpouring with evangelist Todd Bentley. Man alive, God is moving and using him powerfully. So many healings and God encounters. I have felt the spill over effect of impartation connected to the revival. My friend Richard Maybury prayed for me after returning from Trevor and Sharon Baker’s ministry at the Dudley Outpouring in Birmingham. Since then I have begun to see some exciting miracles and healings.

Just before I left SA , I had the opportunity to minister at Living Stones church in Mosselbay. What a deluge of God’s power that came into those meetings! People got healed and many received prophetic words! My favourite had to be seeing many people get drunk (filled) in the Spirit. Nick Groves a prophetic worship leader and friend remained in the Spirit for hours as he received afresh the fathers love toward him. I am still hearing testimonies of God’s goodness in those meetings!

I then celebrated in style my 30th birthday! Scary! I have found that after much evaluation of the last few months, God is still so good in directing and unlocking destiny in the hearts of people, no matter how young or old you are. In fact many of the people I know who live with a constant sense of destiny are folks over 50!

I arrived back in the UK after being delayed by about four months thanks to the effective adminstrative systems in South Africa. So into Together on a Mission conference I flew. This year it was our privilege to host Mark Driscoll, the senior teaching pastor of a large growing church in Seattle (8000 people and counting). Mark was a real provocation and challenged us to see beyond the now and into the future. His emphasis on becoming a missiological community was fantastic, but my favourite of course was when he spoke about my best friend, Holy Spirit. After all He is the one who leads people to Jesus! Mark’s passion and drive to engage authentically with the world around us was infectious.

I had the privilege once again of working with Kieth Hazell, a prophet from Canada. This father in the faith brings much wisdom and sanity to the prophetic. It is so much fun getting to do the ‘stuff’ as God moves! The session at mobilise was amazing! There was a great down pour of Holy Spirit activity and many young students encountered the resurrected Lord. We saw amazing signs and wonders and God broke in! Go check it out on the Newfrontiers Website! I think it will bless you. I also spoke on apostles and prophets together. The report back from people who found it helpful was really encouraging.

So here I am getting ready for a big move to Middlesbrough where I will be based. Who knows what will happen in God’s providential out workings! Yay God! Please keep praying for me and oh, please send some emails with testimonies of God’s goodness, if you have been in one of the meeting I have done recently. It is always encouraging to hear what God is doing! Thanks and Blessings!
